Host of the monthly, volunteer-run Neues Kabarett series, which recently celebrated its fifth year of presenting avant-garde/free-jazz and experimental concerts. The series creates performing opportunities for established and emerging musicians, occasionally involving visual artists, dancers and poets. The Brecht Forum also sponsors such projects as the NY Marxist School and the Institute for Popular Education, offering classes, lectures, seminars, art exhibits, film series, workshops and language classes in its large loft.
