Melissa Hamilton...she reminded me in her phrasing and pure intonation of the late Chris Connor at her peak. An exceptional thing is that she makes great choices with interpretation of certain lyrics, taking a familiar song like Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “If I Loved You” and, instead of going for the big ending, brings it down to an intimate whisper...When she wants to belt, Melissa sings full throttle and the effect is electrifying!...Let’s hope we see more and more of Melissa.
