Hilary's show, "Willing to Be Lucky: Songs of New York," takes its title from E.B. White’s iconic 1948 essay, Here is New York, in which White sagely counsels the reader, “No one should come to New York to live unless he is willing to be lucky.” With a program of songs both urban and urbane by composers like Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Nellie McKay, and Dave Frishberg, among others, Hilary celebrates New York’s many complexities, contradictions, and moments of unexpected beauty.
