Gene Bertoncini can transform a nylon-string guitar into a little orchestra. Called “The Segovia of Jazz Guitar” by the late jazz critic and historian Gene Lees, he has accompanied Tony Bennett, Lena Horne and Nancy Wilson, collaborated with Buddy Rich, Wayne Shorter and Burt Bacharach among many others, and made landmark duo recordings with bassist Michael Moore. The intimate atmosphere of The Drawing Room makes it an ideal place to hear him.
