Over the last 93 years, the Henry Street Settlement has hosted performances by John Cage and Aaron Copland, Rashied Ali, Dave Douglas and Melissa Caruso Scott. The latter might not have made her mark as a performer but, as co-owner (with her husband John Scott) of the much-loved club Tonic, certainly played a big part in the performance history on the Lower East Side.

”Abrons does have a great history which a lot of people don't know about, but it also has a history for me,” Scott said. “When I was a child I performed in West Side Story there. That place has always been around for me.”
