Ben Stapp and the Zozimos Brass at The Stone

Tonight the Zozimos Collective will be featured as a Brass Ensemble. Growing up as first a brass player and then a jazz musician a group like this for Stapp was inevitable. Compositions for this group will have a heavy folk influence, pulling from the traditions of Balkan music, Indian music and American folk music and coupled with Stapp's harmonic and rhythmic approach.

Mr. Stapp's most recent release, and debut CD "Ecstasis," has received a critic's pic from the NY Times, Honorable Mention in the Village Voice, and was described as a "fresh new voice," and "most certainly to watch" by All About Jazz.
