"Beledo is considered a real myth among Uruguayan music connoisseurs," according to El Pais newspaper from Montevideo, Uruguay. Initially a pianist, Beledo became a guitar hero in his late teenage years, captivating audiences in Uruguay and Argentina. Attending the University School of Music in Uruguay, he not only performed classical music recitals, but was a founding member of the first Jazz Ensemble, sponsored by the conservatory in an effort to integrate jazz into the traditional curriculum. Later on, his fusion efforts of the early 80's in South America were noticed in the USA by both GUITAR PLAYER and JAZZIZ magazines. Since then, Beledo has performed and recorded all over the world with greats like Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Joe Locke, John Benitez, Stefon Harris, Randy Brecker, Thierry Arpino and Bakithi Kumalo. His latest project, 'The Avengers' features fusion pioneers Adam Holzman, Lincoln Goines and Kim Plainfield.
