Somi will be gracing MIST Harlem on Friday, April 24th to give a special performance of her Lagos Music Salon album with an all-acoustic chamber jazz ensemble. The East African jazz vocalist’s upcoming MIST Harlem appearance comes on the heels of her latest video “Ginger Me Slowly,” which was feautred in BET’s popular TV show “Being Mary Jane.” Joining Somi are Toru Dodo(piano), Liberty Ellman(guitar), Patrice Jackson-Tilghman(cello), Juliette Jones (violin), Alicia Olatuja (additional vocals), Michael Olatuja (bass) and Nate Smith (drums). The evening show starts at 8:30 PM with doors opening at 7 PM.
