Workers Unite Film Festival presents an evening of film, activism and music with a live performance by drummer, composer and poet William Hooker. Hooker will provide a soundtrack of avant-garde jazz to the silent film “The Symbol of the Unconquered.” Directed by Oscar Micheaux, who is widely regarded as the first major African-American feature filmmaker, “The Symbol of the Unconquered” was celebrated as a direct rebuttal to “The Birth of a Nation” when it was released in 1920.

The film screening and live performance are free and open to the public. Donations are welcome and will benefit Workers Unite Film Festival. Reserve your space today: ...
