-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Israeli Jazz violinist Omer Ashano moved to NYC less than two years ago to study Jazz Performance at The New School and to pursue his musical career in the Jazz capital of the world.

Omer started playing Classical violin at the age of 6, yet he was always fascinated by other folkloric styles of music and after being exposed to Blues and Jazz music through guitar lessons he took for several years, at the age of 15 he started to explore Jazz improvisation on the violin. In the years to come, Omer has emerged himself in Trad/Swing and bebop improvisation styles while studying with renowned Israeli Jazz musicians as well as being the first violin player to study in the Tel Aviv Center for Jazz studies in collaboration with The Newschool.

Omer was a winner of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship in 2014 and he has toured throughout Europe and the U.S playing Jazz, Rock and Folk music.
