Jane Bunnett has established an international reputation for creative integrity, improvisational daring, and courageous artistry. Her exploration of AfroCuban melodies expresses the universality of music as shes embraced the rhythms and culture of Cuba in combination with her gifts as a flutist, saxophonist, and pianist. Circa 2012, Bunnett created Maqueque as a project to record and mentor young Cuban female musicians; over time, it became one of the top groups on the North American jazz scene.
