A beloved Bach concerto, a folksy and reflective Bartók work, and Brahms’s noble symphony are showcased by the stellar young musicians of the New York String Orchestra. Bach’s “Double” Concerto features virtuosity and poignant beauty—especially the sublime central movement—while Bartók’s concerto glows with gentle folk melodies energized by bravura flourishes.
