The Historic Brass Society will present a conference and period-instrument concert at the CUNY Grad Center focusing on repertoires that have influenced the development of jazz but have been overlooked in the standard jazz histories including James Reese Europe and the Harlem Hell Fighters as well as early 20th century Latin music.
