Jimmy Greenes rise to respected prominence began in 1999 when he was named one of DownBeat Magazines 25 Young Rising Stars in Jazz . The saxophonists mentors included Jackie McLean, Jim McNeely, and David Liebman; hes recorded and/or performed with such artists as Horace Silver, Freddie Hubbard, Harry Connick, Jr., and Kenny Barron, just to name a few. In 2014, Greenes eighth studio album Beautiful Life (Mack Avenue Records) became his breakthrough onto the Billboard charts, where it placed on the Christian, Gospel, Jazz, and Heatseekers album listings. Beautiful Life earned the artist a GRAMMY Award nomination for Best Jazz Instrumental Album; in addition, Greene and vocalist Javier Colon were nominated for Best Arrangement, Instrumental and Vocals for the track When I Come Home...
