In it's fifth consecutive year at Symphony Space, Karlisle Pro 1 presents Lisle Atkinson's NEO BASS Ensemble, a unique multi-bass ensemble that features the bass as ”lead” instrument, putting the full range of the double bass on display: from lead instrument, harmonic front line, solo and rhythm section for a concert that's history in the making! Witness a reunion of former members of the famous Bill Lee New York Bass Violin Choir (Lisle Atkinson, Ron Carter, Richard Davis, Michael Max Fleming), joined by special guests Sam Gill (b), Leon Atkinson (gtr), Norman Simmons (p) and the dynamic NEO BASS Ensemble for an exciting evening of be-bop, swinging sonorities and flavorful jazz harmonies rivaling any big band today or past.
