For a saxophonist of my generation, playing in a trio context was central to the work. In recent years, I have returned to playing trio with bass and drums, often under the name “Trio Exaltation.” My last live performance before the pandemic changed public gatherings was with Michael and Tomas, whose work together is well known from their groups with Mary Halvorson and others. I am glad to say hello again on the bandstand to these two great musicians a year and change down the road. I welcome your joining us. - Marty Ehrlich
