9:30 Out of your Head Collective: The 1rst & 3rd Sunday of each month. Out of Your Head is both a collective of improvising musicians in Brooklyn as well as a regular performance event at Freddy’s Bar. Bassist Adam Hopkins, originally from Baltimore, founded the NY chapter in January 2012 to help expand and unify the local creative music scene. OOYH currently involves over 50 NY-based musicians, and includes some of the finest improvisers in the world. For every performance Hopkins hand picks a group of musicians from the collective to perform two sets of improvised music—forming groups that have never rehearsed nor played together. The music is created in the moment then gone, and by a group of people who may not even know each other before the first note is played....
