Intoxicating Romany rhythms meet thrilling jazz improvisation in the boundary-pushing sounds of Paradox Trio. World music woodwind virtuoso Matt Darriau (of Grammy-winning ensemble the Klezmatics), performs intricate, shape-shifting melodic lines on the traditional gaida, a Bulgarian bagpipe; the flute-like kaval; together with cellist Rufus Cappadocia, guitarist Brad Shepik and Macedonian percussionist Seido Salifoski and the driving Balkan beats of the dumbek.
