The captivating rhythms of Brazil and Cuba in a one-night-only double bill!
Exquisite Brazilian vocalist Maucha Adnet (who toured extensively with Jobim) and the superlative trio that epitomizes Brazilian jazz start the evening off with their “swings so cool, sways so gentle” songs of love and longing. Things go from warm to fiery in the concert’s second half when the most exciting new maestros in Latin jazz, the Curtis Brothers and the knockout percussionists in their Afro-Cuban Jazz Quintet, take the stage in a program ranging from Dizzy Gillespie to Machito. Rhythm warm, rhythm hot, this is jazz for a summer night!
