About

Sarah Elizabeth Charles is a vocalist and composer based in New York City. Charles' musical stylings are unique, and the intricacies of her art focus on both modernizing classics and composing distinctive originals. Besides being a member of Manner Effect and The Enoch Smith Jr. Trio, Charles leads the S.E. Charles Quartet, which released its debut record, Red, to sold-out sets at Dizzy's in September 2012. For this show, the group will perform repertoire celebrating Caribbean American heritage and will be joined by special guests in the Haitian music community, including the great Emeline Michel (6/4 only) and the incomparable Godwin Louis.
