About

Taking their name from the legendary jazz trumpeter Freddie Hubbard’s 1965 album The Night of the Cookers, this Brooklyn-based ensemble excels in hard-bop jazz with a subtle hip-hop influence. Melding old-school bebop with contemporary rhythms, the sextet forges a bold, distinctive sound that pays tribute to their borough’s rich and diverse musical heritage. Featuring Kenyatta Beasley, Keith Loftis, Anthony Wonsey, E J Strickland, Linda Oh, and Chris Smith.

RSVPs are strongly encouraged; visit the Brooklyn Public Library website.
