About

"Pandit Samir Chatterjee is a virtuoso tabla player from India, representing the Farrukhabad Gharana of tabla playing. He travels widely across the world throughout the year and is a major catalyst in the fusion of Indian and Western music. He is the founder and director of the Chhandayan Institute in New York City. Trombonist, composer, and Assistant Professor at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, Chris Stover has studied traditional Indian music with Pandit Debi Prasad Chatterjee and Ramesh Gangolli and also works to forge deep syncretisms between Indian and Western music.
