Under the direction of Dave Pietro, this exceptional student ensemble performs the compositions of NYU graduate and jazz legend Wayne Shorter. From Shorter's early stint with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, to his iconic years with Miles Davis and Weather Report, up to his most recent award-winning recordings and projects, the supply of highest caliber material from which to draw is practically endless. The NYU ensemble will be joined by trumpet virtuoso Mike Rodriguez.
