We are delighted to honor master percussionist and educator, Warren Smith, who will perform. Join us!
Master percussionist Warren Smith has worked with Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson, Quincy Jones, Count Basie, and Carmen McRae. Janis Joplin and in 1971 with King Curtis and Tony Williams. He was also a founding member of Max Roach's percussion ensemble, M'Boom, in 1970, and has played with countless musicians ever since. He taught for 10 years in the New York City Board of Education, three years at Adelphi University and 25 years at SUNY Old Westbury. He has performed and recorded in all areas of popular, symphonic and contemporary Music and continue to be active, performing with his own “Composers Workshop Ensemble”...
