Young South African jazz vocalist, Vuyo (Vuyolwethu) Sotashe, is gradually making his mark in the New York jazz scene. Sotashe moved to the NYC in 2013 with the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship to pursue Masters of Music at William Paterson University. Since then, he has won first prize at the very first Mid- Atlantic Jazz Festival Vocal Competition in 2014, placed second at the 2015 Shure Montreux Jazz Festival International Voice Competition and won its Audience Prize, and in 2015 was the first male vocal finalist in the history of Thelonious Monk Institute International Jazz Vocal Competition. Sotashe has performed on international stages including the Arcevia Jazz Fest, Fermo Jazz Festival, Stockholm Jazz Festival, Cape Town International Festival, Johannesburg Joy of Jazz Festival and Charlie Parker Jazz Festival. He has performed with the likes of George Benson, South African Music Award-winning band Proxy, Josh Groban and Israel Houghton. BONOMO is a family of musicians on a mission - a concept aiming to unify - a band unique and familiar. Formed by NYC pianist and vocalist Adam Bonomo. BONOMO has been gaining much acclaim. With a debut performance at Lincoln Center, 1st place prize at the CASC songwriting competition, and placing in the Indie International Songwriting Competitions top 5. BONOMO is fast approaching their potential. BONOMO has just released their Official music video for their song entitled Water. Using portraits of over 150 different people in NYC 'Water' (Filmed by Marian Sell) is a beautiful reflection of oneself and the world.
