Whit Dickey is best know for his work with David S. Ware, Matthew Shipp, and Joe Morris. He has also had a number of dates as a leader. His recent Peace Planet and Box of Light CD on Aum Fidelity is one of the best recordings of 2019
Tonight we present two of his best projects. The band which performs on the Box of Light portion of the Tao Quartets, which features Steve Swell, Michael Bisio, and Rob Brown. Those of you who have been going to the House of Improv shows know how great Steve Swell and Michael Bisio can be.
The duo of Kirk Knuffke and Whit Dickey has produced two CDs, the first Fierce Silence was released by Clean Feed in 2015 and the second, Drone Dreams was released by NoBusiness Records in May of this year. Kirk was fantastic during his recent House of Improv performance and based on the recordings I expect telepathic fireworks for this performance. ...
